Cloisonné enameling is a challenging and difficult craft, and any small mistake in any step (from the initial design to the final polishing) can cause the entire piece to fail.

We are strict and have certain standards for our works. A product is considered a failure if it does not meet the desired standards in terms of aesthetics, function, or durability. With signs of cracking, burning, peeling, disharmonious details and colors, air bubbles and metal oxides, dull or scratched surfaces… Therefore, the success rate (i.e. the rate of good quality products after finishing) of Cloisonné enameling is often very low.

But it is also because of the very low success rate of Cloisonné enameling that it reflects its complexity and high artistry. Each piece requires meticulousness, patience, and a combination of craft and science.
However, these challenges also make Cloisonné enameling one of the most valuable traditional arts, with each successful product being the result of dedication and a little luck.

We salvage gold Cloisonné wire from the “wreckage”.
